GET SCRAPLESS UP AND RUNNING
A massive thank you to everyone who supported the campaign
Thanks to the 86 supporters we had on the campaign, we managed to raise a whopping £6773 to help get Scrapless up and running!! This is incredible news and will allow us to purchase the gravity dispensers as shown below.
We have also been told that our campaign raised the 3rd most money out of the whole Bring It 2020 competition, giving us a place in the final 25 for a shot at first prize which is an extra £10,000. Even if we do not win, we will be receiving a minimum of £2020 extra to help get us going! Meg is over the moon and can't thank our supporters enough.
Please take a look at our business sponsor page. These awesome businesses took advantage of our business reward on the Crowdfunder and are supporting us through the set up of Scrapless! Meg is working closely with the businesses to help reduce their environmental impact and increase the awareness of these awesome businesses that deserve the communities attention. Check them out here: Business Sponsors

We are raising funds to get 'Scrapless up and running' and to be able to offer you the best service and experience possible. We are looking to raise £10,000 to purchase the first in first out gravity dispensers as well as trade rated scales for quick and efficient service.

We have joined the crowdfunding platform 'Crowdfunder' who has already been used by many of the zero waste stores across the country to start up. All of them have been more than successful and supported and welcomed by their local community so I don't see why this shall be any different.
I submitted our application into the Natwest X Crowdfunder campaign called 'Back Her Business' which was set up to aid the women of the country to successfully get the money they need for their amazing projects. Scrapless' crowdfunding campaign has been accepted by Back Her Business and is now entered into the Bring It 2020 competition against 400 like minded women who want to open their own business this year!
This means that Scrapless' campaign is competing against everyone else's in the competition to win some amazing prizes (right).
Of course we want to go for the gold and get that extra £10,000 funding so we can open with even more amazing products we would not have been able to until our 2nd year. By winning we would buy freezers so we can offer you refillable frozen fruit and veg, open our sustainable cafe and even get a juice press or two for those fresh juices!
But, how will we help you?
The average person in the UK generates 400kg worth of waste every year!! WHAT! So, we want to help you cut that down, as well as reducing your environmental impact and supporting local producers and makers. Through refilling at the store you will be able to choose the quantity you want of that product and pay for the weight only. In supermarkets, 7% of your annual food shopping bill accounts for plastic and packaging that comes with your food... it would be great to not waste your money too right? So, you will pay for the weight of the product only and not be wasting money on the useless and harmful packaging. No waste all round!
We have many local producers, makers and growers lined up to stock their products in store which is great! We are bringing you the best that Sussex has to offer which means you are helping to support your local economy, AND reducing on your environmental impact through your food miles being really low! All products in store will have where they have come from so you can make an informed purchase.
Scrapless is partly being funded by a start up bank loan but we also need your help. As we are a Community Interest Company, we did not want to be forking a lot of our profits back into the banks, but to bettering our community and what we can provide you with in store. But that does mean we need you to help us out with a small pledge, in return for a reward as a thank you.
